Harold Fry is an ordinary man who has faltered in his roles as a husband, father, and friend. Now in his sixties, he is resigned to living a life of quiet obscurity. However, everything changes when he discovers that his old friend Queenie is terminally ill. Initially setting out to mail her a letter, Harold spontaneously chooses to embark on a journey on foot, determined to walk the entire 450 miles to her hospice.
