The Chronicles of Melanie

On June 14, 1941, in Soviet-controlled Latvia, Melanie and her husband Aleksandr are abruptly forced from their home by authorities, leaving everything behind. Alongside over 15,000 fellow Latvians, Melanie and her son are exiled to Siberia. Amidst the harsh conditions of cold, hunger, and brutality, Melanie finds renewed strength in the letters she pens to Aleksandr, filled with hope for a liberated Latvia and a brighter future.
