The Stand

In this 1994 miniseries adaptation of Stephen King’s epic novel, a deadly virus known as “Captain Trips” wipes out most of the world’s population, setting the stage for a battle between good and evil. Survivors are drawn to two leaders: the benevolent Mother Abagail, played by Ruby Dee, and the malevolent Randall Flagg, portrayed by Jamey Sheridan. The ensemble cast also includes Gary Sinise, Molly Ringwald, and Rob Lowe, who bring depth to their roles in this post-apocalyptic tale.
