Reuniting the Rubins

Lenny Rubins (played by Timothy Spall), a meticulous lawyer, is forced to delay his plans for a peaceful retirement when his ailing mother (Honor Blackman) uses emotional persuasion to get him to bring his distant children together for a Jewish holiday. Although they share the same lineage, Lenny sees his adult children as if they are from entirely different worlds: one is a relentless, controlling capitalist; another is a vocal, combative environmental activist; a third is a spiritual Buddhist monk; and lastly, a fervent, newly devout Rabbi. Despite their constant bickering, disputes, and even potential involvement in an African conflict, they remain a family.
