Prison Kids: A Crime Against America’s Children

Each day in the United States, approximately 60,000 minors find themselves sleeping in detention facilities. A significant number of these youths are incarcerated for actions that wouldn’t be deemed criminal if they were of legal adult age. Fusion embarked on a journey across the nation to collect the narratives of young individuals who spent their formative years in incarceration. What we discovered was a system intended to support these children, yet it frequently leaves them lost and without direction.
