In the year 2138, virtual reality gaming is at its peak. A well-loved online game called Yggdrasil is unexpectedly shut down. Yet, one player, Momonga, chooses to remain logged in. As a result, he is transformed into a skeleton, embodying “the most powerful wizard.” The game world evolves, with non-player characters (NPCs) starting to experience emotions. With no family, friends, or societal role, the otherwise ordinary young man, Momonga, sets out to dominate the new world that the game has become. “Overlord: The Undead King,” also known as “Overlord: Fushisha no Ō,” is an anime compilation from the Overlord series, encompassing episodes one through seven.
