MacArthur Park

This film offers a glimpse into the lives of a homeless community in a park, united by their shared addiction to crack cocaine. Within this drug-centric encampment, Cody emerges as a paternal figure among the addicts, offering assistance to his friends in times of crisis or when they desperately seek a “blast.” His partner, Alicia, is a dreamer slowly losing herself to the drug, while E-Max, a streetwise pimp, attempts to recruit young Linda into his diverse group of sex workers. Hoover Blue, a nurturing figure to all the addicts, tries to impart wisdom to the naive Linda, while Cody supports young P-Air in his efforts to hustle and record a hip-hop track in hopes of achieving success. However, when Cody’s biological son, Terry, finds him to deliver the news of his wife’s death, Cody initially fails to recognize him and is unable to assist with the funeral arrangements. After five years of battling crack addiction, Cody yearns to turn his life around and be there for Terry, but the more he fights to leave the park, the more it entraps him.
