Lamya’s Poem
This is a poignant and timely story about Lamya, a 12-year-old girl who has fled the turmoil in Syria. During her escape, she receives a book of poetry by the renowned 13th-century poet, Rumi. As her journey becomes increasingly dangerous, the book transforms into a mystical portal, allowing her to encounter Rumi as a young boy, also a refugee escaping the violence of his era. Together, in a shared dreamlike realm, they confront the monsters that haunt them from their respective realities. Lamya must assist the young Rumi in discovering his purpose and composing the poem that, centuries later, will be crucial to her survival.
