Overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor

The 1953 American short musical film, “Overture to The Merry Wives of Windsor,” also referred to as “The Merry Wives of Windsor Overture,” was produced by Johnny Green. This film features the MGM Symphony Orchestra performing the overture from Otto Nicolai’s opera, “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” under the baton of Johnny Green. In 1954, it received an Oscar for Best Short Subject, One-Reel.
